MISSION To glorify God by proclaiming Jesus Christ, making disciples, equipping believers, and reaching the nations through the power of the Holy Spirit—touching the untouched, giving hope to the hopeless, transforming lives, and becoming a refuge for the distressed. CORE VALUES T³ — Touch. Transform. Take. T1 — TOUCH Touching the Untouched — reaching those who have not yet experienced the love of Christ. T2 — TRANSFORM Transforming Lives — seeing people changed through the Gospel and discipleship. T3 — TAKE Taking the Gospel to the Nations — sending believers to fulfill the Great Commission.

History

  • April 2004

A Ministry Born from Crisis, Sustained by God’s Grace In April 2004, a devastating fire struck BASECO in Manila, becoming one of the largest fires recorded in the city. In response to the urgent needs of the affected families, a temporary school and church ministry were established to provide spiritual, educational, and practical support to the fire victims. Recognizing the great need in the community, Pastor Celestino “Tino” Pano and Pastor Sin Sung Chul agreed to establish a second church in BASECO. They were joined by the first missionary to the community, Missionary Lee Kyung Ug (Sheila). What began as a small ministry among the affected families soon became a growing community of faith. The ministry started with only three families, but through God’s grace, faithfulness, and the commitment of those who served, the church continued to grow and reach more people in the community. Today, the church has an average of 80–100 regular attendees, continuing its mission of proclaiming the Gospel, strengthening families, serving the community, and leading people to a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Ministry in BASECO BASECO is situated in one of Manila’s highly underserved and densely populated communities, with a population of more than 130,000 people. The community continues to face significant social and economic challenges, making the presence of a Christ-centered ministry especially important. What began as a response to a devastating fire has grown into a wider ministry movement. Over 21 years of faithful ministry, WCF Tambakan, through the dedication of its pastors and ministry leaders, has helped establish eight churches across the Philippines. What started with a small community in BASECO has expanded into a growing network of churches committed to reaching families, serving communities, making disciples, and proclaiming the hope of Jesus Christ. From three families to a growing network of churches, this journey is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and the power of the Gospel to bring hope, transform lives, and reach communities. As we look to the future, we remain committed to the Great Commission—to make disciples, serve the underserved, reach those who have yet to be reached, and proclaim the hope of Jesus Christ to the nations.
